Parasitism to Symbiosis
Our initial idea is to improve the relationship between the city and human, since initially the relationship between people living there, losing the hope of tomorrow, only work one day and stay at home for three days. The relationship between them and the district is like parasitism. Many wanted criminals and unrest elements at the bottom of the society gathered here, causing the social environment around Sanhe Market to decline. Even if there is a good natural environment, people still think that this is an unsafe area. We hope to create a happy living space that can transform the relationship between the city and people from parasitic to symbiotic. The basic contradiction of the venue is that people in the Sanhe talent market have low levels of education and are unable to engage in more professional work, so that they cannot maintain a long-term career and must rely on the talent market to provide them with continuous short-term work.
Site & Surrounding
Education serves as an entry point. Jean Piaget develop the stage of cognitive development in psychology. When we start to study something, we need to repeat the input and output several times until we start to imagine new objects. So, our building based on this theory, and divide all kinds of educations into input and output. Input includes reading room, classrooms and technique lab. Output includes discussion room and debate space. At last, people will get into the theater where they can enjoy a lot of shows such as Astronomy exhibition and art exhibition, so that they can learn how to create new ideas and get curious about the universe.
Our site located at the Longhua District, Shenzhen. The Sanhe talent market is close to the hub bus station and subway line 4, which provides great connection between center of Shenzhen downtown and our site. We tried to map the location of industrial district to see where these labors flow. Unlike the land use of central city, the surroundings of our site are just residential and industrial, which make sense that people in Sanhe talent market will act as fundamental labors in this industrial district.
Showroom Pop-up
On the second platform that links the other side of the river and our education center, we sets several pop-up showrooms that can attract small businesses and exhibitions.
Vertical Transit Center
A vertical transit center will connect the roof runway and second platform as well as the education center. This feature acts as a creative device that promote imagination and innovation of people. We also provide straight escalators as rapid transit mode.
Beneath The Platform
A park beneath the platform can be used as both debate square and leisure green space. When education center acts as a driving element, space beneath is where they can practice what they have learnt and get relief.
Outdoor Experience
People use the second platform as a social place and recreation space. As a main entrance of our education center, people who are attracted by the welcoming gesture will in return enhance the happiness of the site.
