- Form, Ordering System And Program
This studio is the second vertical studio in school, which included three transformation through the whole projects. Those transformations are all exploring the ordering system, the first transformation is assembling an object and deconstructing the assembly, and make a model to transform the ordering system. The second transformation is to analyze unfinished projects from famous studios, detecting basic elements like circulation, programs, area, light, finishing the plans and sections, and showing them by 4-5 analysis models.
- The Case Study of SANAA'S Project
The third transformation is changing the programs of the original building to a mixed workplace, students can add other program like gym, retail, or even a spa. Considering a reasonable circulation and exploring textures are the main points of my design, I design a circle spa pool with a changing room on the center, with other programs like gym, office, reception and tea room which located on average of the pool. The ordering system is like a checkerboard. Based on the current drawings and images we could find of SANAA's unfinished project ' House in China', I detect most information of the design such as programs, circulation and construction. Then I make the new drawings and model based on the resources. The original project is a residential design. According to the analysis of the site, it is suitable to transform it into a comprehensive office with a collection of leisure space. Without changing the large structure, I designed the roof garden and gazebo, and people need to jump into the spa in the middle of the house from the roof.
- Form
Formally, on the right side of the circular opening in the roof and spa opening photograph echo, form a kind of brand-new space experience, in the same way, through the breakthrough of building horizontal and vertical openings, next door to the people who work in the office was in the gym, beside the fitness is swimming, beside the swimming is a cup of tea leisure, the contrast as if place oneself to the world, let a person feel very interesting
- Transformation and Reprogramming
After the redesign of the programs and materials of each room, the project has undergone great changes, from a relatively single function to a Shared space integrating office, fitness, spa and study, and the utilization rate of the space has been greatly improved. In addition, I added a roof pavilion and a garden, which can be reached by three stairs located on the ground floor. People need to pass through the roof garden before diving into the central spa pool.
- Space & Materials
In terms of materials, I used many different materials such as marble, cement, oak flooring, blankets and natural turf. Because this is a Shared space, people here, all the joy, the activities of the different room, so the noise control is very important, I am in the office space as well as the activity room, tea room are designed, such as the blanket and turf shop can absorb noise, so that people in sports or entertainment will not be affected by too much. In addition, I used highly recognizable dark blue marble and white oak floors to achieve a color conflict effect and give people visual cues to enter different Space.
